The Power of Positive Persuasion

When talking about persuasion...I am referring to a kind and unassuming persuasion. Many people might associate the art of persuasion with the deceit of manipulation. Positive persuasion is anything but manipulative.
The first step in gaining the ability to persuade others to join our cause hinges on our power to become a trusted and loyal friend.
Abraham Lincoln once said…."'A drop of honey catches more flies than a gallon of gall. So with men. If you would win a man to your cause, first convince him that you are his sincere friend. Therein is a drop of honey which catches his heart, which, say what he will, is the highroad to his reason."
By gaining their trust you will be enabled to persuade them that your cause is valid and in their best interest.
Are there certain friends you turn to when you have a problem or need to be listened to? Consider this:
> True friends are compassionate, understanding and nurturing.
> Friendship means we are totally present, giving each other our undivided attention.
> Friends help each other to achieve clarity so we can be empowered to solve our own problems.
> Friends are not selfish. They allow each other sufficient time to talk about the important things that need to be said.
Chances are… the people we turn to for support and understanding are very good listeners. We can all develop these qualities as well and use them to engage in “positive persuasion" through mastering the art of listening.

A Different Kind of Journal....

I am in the process of learning that both Good and Bad times in my life are Precious gifts...each has significant Value if I manage them well.

One sure way to help manage the Good and Bad times is to keep a daily Gratitude journal.

Jotting down everything you are Thankful for on a consistent basis will help you keep things in perspective and realize just how good you have it.

5 Minutes each day might be the extra boost you need....

Maintaining a Positive, upbeat attitude will help you to feel Thankful for this opportunity and keep you motivated to make the most of it.

The goal is to shift our focus away from ourselves and look for the gifts that are hidden in our Valley...gifts that can help bring us to a new and better place!

Painful Truths in a Deep Valley

Trudging through an unfamiliar valley, the journey was proving to be much harder than expected.
This valley did not seem this deep in the beginning.
It really is true...."Managing our experiences while in the valley will determine how soon we reach our next peak."

How would this principle apply to network marketing?
I was recently reminded that one of the deepest and darkest Valleys in growing our business is ACCOUNTABILITY.
In a traditional workplace setting you have one or more bosses that hold you accountable for your actions.
The words "I'M THE BOSS" have a great ring to them...but that ring is pretty hollow if you and others do not hold your actions accountable.
"Healthy responsibility is defined as taking 100 percent responsibility for yourself while inspiring others to take 100 percent responsibility." ~ Gay Hendricks
Next week I will share some solutions that will help address the need for growing more accountable.
I hope this information helps you as much as it helps me!

Build It To Last - Pillar #2 is Timing

When evaluating a network marketing company, timing is critical. There are several key questions that should be considered in regard to timing:

  • Is the company in the early stages of growth or has it matured, leveled off, or even declining?
  • Is the company poised to take advantage of the rapid growth taking place in the network marketing industry today?
  • Is their product offering focused on a huge expanding global market?
Make sure the company that you partner with has the vision to take full advantage of the growing opportunities. Opportunities that are developing constantly in today's ever-changing global economy. The last thing you need is to become a victim of poor timing with the wrong company.

Build it to Last - Pillar #1 is Company Management

If you are going to build a bridge, you have to have rock solid support.
If your bridge has less than adequate support...it will eventually weaken and crumble. This same principle applies to building your business.
There are at least 5 foundational principles that will support lasting success:

  • Pillar #1 deals with choosing the right company to partner with. Investigate by asking a few simple questions.
  • Does the company management have rock-solid experience backed with unquestionable integrity?
  • Have they created a "distributor friendly" environment with the policies and procedures that are without loopholes and are based on honesty and integrity?
You will not regret asking the tough questions. The future of your business demands due diligence!

Serving Breeds Success

When you are fortunate enough to enjoy success, does it come purely by your own efforts?
Think of all the teachers and mentors that helped you achieve your educational goals.
Think about your closest friends that helped you make it through a challenging time in your life.
Think about those people in your life that go out of their way to make you feel good about yourself.
What do all of these wonderful people have in common? They all realize that service to others breeds success. Hopefully you are associated with a great group of servants that truly care about your business.
My goal is to reach out and unselfishly give to those who are looking for support.

Networking is a family matter

Every successful person is part of what amounts to a close-knit family. The #1 reason for failure in any business is the lack of a mentor and a supportive team. People need more help than being told they already know what to do and how to do it! I am beginning to find out how blessed I am to be a small part of the "Mentoring For Free" family! Are you part of a family environment that includes several mentors who are committed to your success?

To your success within a close-knit family of 24/7 support!

Searching for Freedom

For the first time in my life....I recently found out what it's like to be a victim of corporate downsizing. My initial reaction was somewhat surreal. I told myself that this really can't be happening to me.
Filing for unemployment is not something I ever expected to do! After waking up to reality, I am now embracing my mission to take control of my life and stop participating in the "doom and gloom" mindset. An attitude that appears to have a stranglehold on much of our nation. Many are feeling powerless to initiate positive thoughts that result in positive actions.
I have had enough of the uncertainty that comes with working in the corporate realm. The introduction to "Mentoring for Free" was the first step toward freedom for me. I am now starting my own network marketing business. This business is designed to provide freedom for me, my family, and future generations to come.
I am thrilled to truly be in business "for myself and not by myself". There is great power in a group of likeminded individuals who are determined to help each other satisfy their intense hunger for freedom.
